The Online Master of Public Health

The Master of Public Health from St. John’s University gives you the confidence, experience, knowledge and skills to lead the way to a healthier world.

You will graduate ready to tackle complex community health issues, with experience working in hands-on scenarios guided by expert faculty who know the industry inside and out.

Whether you address healthcare disparities, the dangers of smoking and drinking, or the spread of disease, your work as a public health practitioner will truly benefit your communities and humanity.

Fast Facts:

  • Total Credits: 45
  • Time to Complete: Two years full-time (nine credits/semester including summer), or a maximum of 5 years part-time (three credits/ semester including summer)
  • Common Careers: Health care data analysts, program planners, evaluators, educators and managers
  • Accreditation: Program meets the core competency required by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and is currently seeking accreditation

COMMUNITY HEALTH CONCENTRATION

The online Master of Public Health at St. John’s University features an in-depth community health concentration. You’ll learn to plan, implement and evaluate projects and interventions; get real-world experience with expert faculty and fieldwork; and graduate ready to make a difference in your communities.

What to Expect

  • Work with practice-based faculty who are experts in the field.
  • Get the confidence and experience to serve as a leader, working with communities to help improve health, prevent disease and protect the public.
  • Partner with a local public health organization for 200 hours of practicum fieldwork and showcase the outcome in a conference setting.
  • Do culminating coursework to refine your research methods and transfer your skills from theory to practice.
  • Complete a curriculum that embodies the Vincentian mission of St. John’s University, inspired by St. Vincent de Paul’s compassion and zeal for service.
